Welcome to our Breast Cancer Awareness Hop

Welcome to our 1st annual Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop. We are so glad that you have decided to join us for this very important cause.  According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. And since there is currently no cure, early detection is crucial. You can do this by having yearly mammograms, yearly clinical breast exams, and regular self-breast exams.

We have some FABULOUS sponsors for this hop!!!!! You MUST leave a comment on each blog in the hop to be eligible for any and all prizes.

Also, for all prizes you wish to be considered for, you MUST visit their FaceBook pages and/or blogs, LIKE & FOLLOW, and leave a comment on FB. So, if you want to be eligible for ALL the prizes, (I know I would!) You have a bit of work to do, but I promise, it will be worth it!!!

This is a special hop for me. My grandmother, whom was one of my role models and idols, was diagnosed with breast cancer twice. The first time, she was lucky and had it all removed and went many, many years with no return. She then got it again and decided she was at a point where she didn't "need" her breast anymore and had one removed ~ she had a sense of humor like no other and it never got her down! One thing I learned from her was NEVER take it for granted ~ always check yourself and be vigilant. I went through a scare a few years back and had my first mammogram before I was 30. It's never something to take lightly. Thankfully it turned out to be nothing, but I am very proactive with my health. Please encourage all to be the same way!

Now for my project, I made this floral arrangement to support this very important month. One pink for support, one white for all the survivors, and one from awareness paper. I made a redneck wine glass, but turned it into a vase with white/pink ribbons.

I used the following:
3d Flower file from the Silhouette Store
Recollections Paper
Pink Chalk
Miscellaneous jewel brads
Tim Holtz metal tag
Pink/White Twine
Pink/White Ribbons

If you would like to make a donation to the cause, you can go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.

Now it's time for you to go to the wonderfully creative Tahi.

Thanks for hopping with us!
